Freshly Made Sketches #164- a sketch by Jen B.

It was so nice to have a long holiday weekend. I had grand plans to be very productive around the house, but that really didn't happen. Sometimes you just need to relax instead! I did sneak in a little time for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I forgot how hard it is to photograph gold embossing. I may have went another way, if I had remembered. I had to take about 12 pictures before I got the lighting right.

Freshly Made Sketches 163- a sketch by Cindy H.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I was thinking about the things I am thankful for. I am thankful my daughters are healthy and happy (when they aren't irritating the heck out of each other). I am thankful my husband is often the calm to my storm, and he works so hard to provide a good life for his family. I am thankful my parents are still alive and moved closer to us when they retired instead of heading south like most sane people would do.  I am super thankful my mom is doing Thanksgiving. Less stress for me this week. I am thankful for the good friends I have. I am thankful I get to take some time to be creative each week. I think that my daughters will carry that on. Both of them love to create and do art projects. I am jealous that both of them are able to draw well. My stick figures just don't compare, so I am also thankful for all of the great stamps Stampin' up! makes, so I don't have to actually draw.

I am thankful that Freshly Made Sketches has such great sketches each week!  This week's challenge is no exception.

Freshly Made Sketches #162- a sketch by Kim

I had to do some traveling for work recently. I can't complain too much though, as I got to go to Florida. Since we are having really unseasonably cold weather in Minnesota, it was a nice trip to take. I did miss out on the past few challenges, so I was glad to find some time today to participate in this week's Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is my take on the sketch:

This is a fitting card, since we already have more snow than we should in November. Insert big, big frownie face here.

Freshly Made Sketches #155- A sketch by Karren

I've missed out on the past few sketches, but I was determined to get a card done for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It's in the 80's here in Minnesota, so it felt like I should be doing a summer theme card instead of a Christmas one. I guess those lucky people who live in warmer climates might actually experience an 80 degree Christmas, so I'll go with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #146- A sketch by Amy

I'm not sure if craftiness is a genetic predisposition or a learned trait, but my kids sure latch on to every new fad that comes around. I've been ironing perler bead creations all day! I'm sure their latest obsession will end up collecting dust, just like their rainbow looms, but it's fun to see their creative juices flowing. Sorting about 16,000 beads by color wasn't much fun though!  It may have inspired my monochrome look for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
Here is my take on the sketch:

I did have to throw the flower in to break the monochrome up a bit, and make it a little fun.
