Freshly Made Sketches #284- a sketch by Karren

When the 2015-2017 In Colors came out, I thought Delightful Dijon was a drab color. It definitely grew on me and I have used it frequently on projects over the past 2 years. I will be sad to see it go. I used it again for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

It has been a gorgeous weekend in Minnesota. Total summer weather. A couple weeks ago, we had about 3 days of beautiful spring weather, then it got cold again for weeks. I hope the same doesn't happen again! 

My oldest daughter had her first sleepover birthday party this weekend. It went well, but it's amazing how loud a few girls can be. I'm amazed I had any energy to make a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

It has been such a beautiful Fourth of July weekend.  I hated to break away from the outdoor activities to make cards, but I haven't done anything creative in over 2 weeks. When I first saw the sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I had an idea all planned out immediately. Then, I completely hated it when I started to put it together and did not have any other ideas. I went shopping for a little while to clear my head, hoping for a little color inspiration. I kept gravitating to blacks and neutrals in every store, so I figured I better keep it neutral on my card too.

We've had some crappy weather for Memorial Day weekend. Lots of rain today, so I didn't feel bad at all for spending time in my craft room working on a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

One downfall of rainy weather (pun intended), is poor natural lighting for picture taking. A flash and Photoshop will only get you so far.

Freshly Made Sketches #133- A sketch by Cindy L.

We had a lot of rain this week. I know it's better than snow, but I'm still longing for some nice spring weather. I tried to channel spring with my card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

 

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used the largest stamp in the Daydream Medallions and a embossed 2 1/2 inch circle in the middle to mimic the sun. The sentiment stamp is retired, but I thought it fit perfectly for this card.
