My wonderful husband took our daughters to his parent's house for the weekend, so I had the house all to myself! I had a few friends over for a scrapbooking/cardmaking get together. I struggled all weekend to come up with a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I guess I do better under pressure then when I have tons of free time to come up with something. I literally just finished this card at 8:30pm tonight and I've been at it since Friday morning! There are several discarded versions all over my crafting desk.

My husband and I took our kids on a nature hike yesterday to one of our state parks. We some some birds wading in the water that reminded me of the Stampin' Up! Wetlands stamp set. It was my inspiration for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I am so in love with the new Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper in the new 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog. The Night of Navy and Whisper White are absolutely gorgeous together. I decided to use some of it for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

CAS(E) this Sketch #178

I've been itching to use the Sunshine Sayings set from the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog. I thought the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this sketch challenge fit well for this set and matching thinlits.

I don't typically make 4th of July cards, but I had to when I saw Narelle's sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I knew I wanted to use stars for the shapes, so I went for it with the red, white and blue.

Freshly Made Sketches #241- a sketch by Karren

I just got back from a week long vacation in the Black Hills. It was a wonderful trip, but that is a lot of driving! I snuck in some cardmaking today for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge between all the laundry that had to get done. 

  

Here is my take on the sketch: 

 A couple tips: The flower is two shades of the same color. I stamped off the Flirty Flamingo for the large image and used full color for the accent image. I also made a small slit at the bottom groove of the jar and slipped the stem through the slit, so it looks like the flower is actually in the vase.

Freshly Made Sketches #237- a sketch by Rita

We are down to the last couple weeks of Stampin' Up's 2014-2016 In Colors. When they first arrived, I wasn't too crazy about any of them, but most of them have become my go to colors. (Sorry Tangelo Twist, never really cared for you)  For this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I wanted to use Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. I'm going to miss them both, but especially Mossy Meadow. It seems to coordinate well with any color. 

I do love all the 2016-2018 In Colors, so I can't wait to start creating with them!
