It's been a busy weekend. We traveled to my in laws home in North Central Wisconsin for Labor day weekend, but we came back today to have time for the kids to get ready for the first day of school. I sneaked in a tiny bit of time to make a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I had a lot of difficulty deciding on what stamps to use for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week, which led to me just cleaning and organizing my craft room for most of the day. I finally settled on Pictogram Punches. It's a set that I really wanted, but have not used yet.

I've taken a couple weeks off from card making. My mom and I took my daughters to Duluth for a mini vacation, and I've been trying to get all their stuff ready for back to school. My husband took them out for awhile today, so I could have some creative time. I took advantage of the time and did a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches.

Freshly Made Sketches #146- A sketch by Amy

I'm not sure if craftiness is a genetic predisposition or a learned trait, but my kids sure latch on to every new fad that comes around. I've been ironing perler bead creations all day! I'm sure their latest obsession will end up collecting dust, just like their rainbow looms, but it's fun to see their creative juices flowing. Sorting about 16,000 beads by color wasn't much fun though!  It may have inspired my monochrome look for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I did have to throw the flower in to break the monochrome up a bit, and make it a little fun.

Freshly Made Sketches #140- A sketch by Linda C.

I was very excited to get my Stampin' Up! order this week with all new product from the 2014-2015 annual catalog. I was really excited to use the new Flower Patch bundle, and thought I it would work well for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I was so excited that I even did the challenge right away, instead of waiting for the last minute on Sunday!

Here is my take on the sketch:

At first, I thought I'd stamp the flowers and then use the framelits to cut them out, but I went with just using the framelits to cut the flowers and only stamping the center of the flower. I think it would've ended up too busy with a stamped flower too. I also used the Work of Art set again.  The possibilities are endless with that set.

I really wanted to play with some of the new stuff from the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! annual catalog, but my order doesn't arrive until Tuesday.
