I took a bit of a departure for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I don't usually use a lot of color or much DSP, but I went all for it this week.

My wonderful husband took our daughters to his parent's house for the weekend, so I had the house all to myself! I had a few friends over for a scrapbooking/cardmaking get together. I struggled all weekend to come up with a card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I guess I do better under pressure then when I have tons of free time to come up with something. I literally just finished this card at 8:30pm tonight and I've been at it since Friday morning! There are several discarded versions all over my crafting desk.

I rarely make square cards, so I had a little bit of trouble coming up with an idea. I just got the Stampin' Up! hostess set Pun Intended, and I thought it would fit nicely with this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

My husband and I took our kids on a nature hike yesterday to one of our state parks. We some some birds wading in the water that reminded me of the Stampin' Up! Wetlands stamp set. It was my inspiration for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I am so in love with the new Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper in the new 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog. The Night of Navy and Whisper White are absolutely gorgeous together. I decided to use some of it for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
