It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'm scrambling to get my card done for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge before our company comes over!  I'm super excited for tonight's game. I think it's going to be a really great one!

Here is my take on this week's sketch:

I should probably break out of my rut of white on white, but it fits so well for a Valentine card,  I had to do it again.

Freshly Made Sketches #120- A sketch by Rita (and Sale-A-Bration sneak peek)

Another miserably cold week in Minnesota. The schools have closed 3 times this month due to extreme wind chill temperatures, and there is a possibility they might close again on Monday. Arrrggghhh! We need some relief! I am not a fan of winter at all, and this one tops the all time worst list. Anyway, I did get some time this week to participate in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I missed out last week because I was just too darn busy.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper on this card, which you can get for free with a $50 purchase starting January 28. There are a lot of fun colors in this pack. I picked this one because the flowers kind of coordinated with the stamp and it only showcased a few colors. That way the paper doesn't distract too much from the stamped image. I also added some bling in the center of the flowers to mimic the bold centers of the flowers on the paper. You can color our Rhinestone Basic Jewels with a sharpie to change the color, but I thought having a black center might be too much.

Freshly Made Sketches #118- a sketch by Jen M.

I took a bit of a break from card making over the holidays. Schools closed in Minnesota at the beginning of this week due to the extreme cold, so I had a few unscheduled days off from work. Between all of the refereeing of my daughters, I was able to clean out my craft room. It is refreshing and inspiring to have a clean workspace! I am also really excited to start using the new products from the Stampin' up 2014 Occasions catalog. My first foray back into card making was for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

The cute little globe is from the limited time only set, Love you more. This is one of the sets that is only available until January 27th or while supplies last.

I was so honored to be chosen the "Queen of Clean" for Freshly Made Sketches #116. My jaw literally dropped open when I saw that I was chosen! I still almost can't believe it. 

I went with a Christmas card for this week's challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. I have to say that I am glad we are almost done with Christmas. I am excited for the Occasions catalog and making Spring type cards!

I've had a nice relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. Probably because I didn't have to host Thankgiving this year! My mom and I went out shopping Thanksgiving night, which I have to say was a lot better than getting up super early to do it. I have about 98% of my Christmas shopping done, so I am feeling ahead of the game for a change. I made some time for card making this weekend too! I've made so many Christmas/holiday cards lately that I wanted to change it up a bit, so I made a Valentine's card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
