Freshly Made Sketches #216- a sketch by Rita

I was planning on making a wedding card for my cousin for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It kind of morphed into more of a graduation card. It still might work since it's a winter wedding. I didn't have as much problem photographing the gold this week. Probably due to the severe cloud cover in Minnesota today. Who would think we'd be getting rain in December though!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Freshly Made Sketches #215- a sketch by Jen M.

My pre-order for the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog has not arrived yet, but I just could not do another holiday card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I decided to just go neutral for this card. I really like Tip Top Taupe with Basic Black and Whisper White.

Freshly Made Sketches #214- a sketch by Jen T.

It was so nice to have a few relaxing days off from work this week. The last 2 months have been so busy, it was nice to just decompress for a few days. Luckily, we had a dusting of snow, and the kids wanted to be outside in it. We are supposed to get 2-5 inches tomorrow night, so they will really be happy. Those of us that have to drive in it will not enjoy it as much!

For this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I decided to do one more Christmas card. I'm getting kind of burnt out on Christmas cards already. I'm super excited for the Stampin' Up Occasions catalog preorder that starts in a few days. I'm longing for some pastels already!

Freshly Made Sketches #213- A sketch by Amy

When I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I immediately wanted to try out the technique of stamping on the Woodland textured impressions embossing folder. I love how it makes whatever you stamp on it look like it's behind the trees.

Freshly Made Sketchs #211- a sketch by Karren

My October was so crazy busy! Since I was only able to get one challenge done last month, I was determined to get going for November. I snuck in some time this weekend to get this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge done.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Every time I use gold accents, I have a heck of a time photographing them. I tried turning the flash off, and that didn't help, so I don't know how to make them look any better.

Freshly Made Sketches #208- A sketch by Cindy H

October is always a crazy busy month for me, the these past weeks have been out of control busy. I missed the last 2 challenges, but I was determined to find time today for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Photographing this card was frustrating. Always Artichoke seems to come off black and the gold snowflakes are hard to capture. Probably a poor lighting issue, but still frustrating!

Freshly Made Sketches #204- a sketch by Jen T.

I've had kind of a creative block lately. I've been too busy to work on any cards, which is okay because I really didn't want to anyway. I often will think of ideas during my work day or see color combinations I'd like to try out on a card. Lately, it's been nothing. No inspiration to speak of. I figured I'd try to force it a little on this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #202- a sketch by Amy

It's been hot and humid in Minnesota since September started.  We've been so lucky this summer that there hasn't been a lot of this type of weather. I feel less guilty about spending the last few days of summer indoors when it's like this outside. It's been Barbie-ville in my living room the past couple days, with various neighbor girls joining in the fun. Keeps my girls busy so I can get crafty.

As soon as I saw Amy's sketch for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I immediately knew I wanted to use the Joyful Season set from Stampin' Up!'s holiday catalog. I love the sketchy watercolor feel of it (even though it's still too early for me to start thinking about Christmas).

Freshly Made Sketches #201- a sketch by Narelle

The Minnesota State Fair started this past Thursday. It is a 10 day event that basically signals the end of summer around here. It goes through Labor day and school starts that next day (for most of the state). This summer has been absolutely wonderful! I hate to see it end, but fall truly is my favorite time of year. I love the colors, the cooler weather and of course Halloween!

For this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I got out the super cute "Acorny Thank You" stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s" holiday catalog. With the last name McNutt, I have to embrace any set with a squirrel or nuts in it.

This week is Freshly Made Sketches 200th sketch! A big thank you to all the members of the design team for all their inspirational sketches. Your sketches have helped me immensely!

I broke down and did a Christmas card for this week's sketch. Even though I think it's way too early to start thinking about Christmas, this sketch had me gravitating to my new Christmas stamps, so I went with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #199- a sketch by Karren

For this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, I finally got around to using the new You've Got This stamp set. I've had it for months now and keep meaning to use it, but never seem to pick it up. Sometimes you just need the right inspiration first, and Karren's sketch felt so perfect for this set.

I was so excited to play with some of my new products form the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but I cannot bring myself to do any Christmas projects yet. Freshly Made Sketches #196- a sketch by Cindy

I just got back from Stampin' Up's Inspire, Create, Share 2015 a couple hours ago. I am full of inspiration and cannot wait until my product premiere pre-order (say that 3 times fast) arrives! I am taking my oldest daughter to the One Direction concert in a few hours, so I had to rush to get a card done for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Blendabilities would have worked so well on this flower, but I tried to make do with my blender pen. I also wish I had some of the Venetian Crochet trim. I could've sworn I had some, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I used some Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon and just folded it to fake a ruffle.

Stamp sets: Best Thoughts (hostess set), Butterfly Basics
Cardstock- Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss, Always Artichoke
Designer Series Paper-Farmers Market DSP
Ink -Archival Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Always Artichoke marker

Freshly Made Sketches #193- a sketch by Rita

It has been such a beautiful Fourth of July weekend.  I hated to break away from the outdoor activities to make cards, but I haven't done anything creative in over 2 weeks. My cousin offered to take my kids to a movie this afternoon, so I figured I better get at  this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge while I had the free time.
